Jesus Calling for Little Ones – Book Cover

I’ve been slowly building The Boy’s book collection. We could have asked for books instead of cards at the shower that was held for us, but I wanted to have a bit more control over what we are reading to him and any future children. When the opportunity presented itself to review this book I jumped on it. This is my first experience with a Jesus Calling book and I really enjoyed the short, insightful  inscriptions on each a page and the addition of a corresponding bible verse. My favorite was:

“Some things are a little scary, but you don’t need to be afraid. You can be brave. I am right here with you.”
“Don’t be afraid, because I am your God.” ISAIAH 41:10.

The illustrations were perfect and I loved that they weren’t garishly bright with over exaggerated colors and that each page was very cute. I especially loved the little girl blowing on the dandelion!

I’ve been reading this to The Boy every night for a week and it’s a great book to end the day with. He seems to enjoy the pictures and the soothing words are also helpful for quiet time. I am definitely going to look into purchasing other books by Sarah Young for children as this one is such a hit in our house.
