Have you tried Matcha tea yet? I hadn’t until recently when I was asked to review the #MidoriSpring Ceremonial Emerald Matcha tea. (This is not an affiliate link. I will receive no compensation should you click on it.) I have to be honest – it’s organic and my stance on organics hasn’t changed. I don’t feel that they are superior or better than any other product on the market. They are just different. So with that being said, I’ve been wanting to try Match tea for some time now. Mostly because I have been seeing some lovely green cupcakes on Pinterest and I wanted to get in on the fun. But the majority of Matcha I’ve been finding is organic, although I haven’t done a ton of looking or research. No time, no time, no time, as the rabbit says.

But to be fair, I tried this as a tea. For several days. I’m not much of a fan. Nothing against the product as it seems to be a very good product and will probably make to-die-for cupcakes, but the taste of the tea was just a bit too “grassy” for me. It’s not awful, and maybe with a few more days of drinking it will have grown on me. It’s smooth, but slightly thick and does have a bit of a seaweedy/grassy scent. The flavor is overpowering and not at all pleasant initially. I was left with that “dry mouth” feeling after the first sip. From doing a bit of research on Matcha tea it appears to definitely be an acquired taste. Unfortnately, I don’t seem to be acquiring it.

I am going to try this in cupcakes though as they look divine and naturally, anything that is green is healthy. Right?

If you give Matcha a try, let me know your thoughts. I’m hoping I’m just the odd duck and everyone else has a lovely experience.
